The Humans Behind GetHuman

Since 2004, GetHuman.com has been powered by a LOT of hard work and research by an ever-changing number of human beings. At its largest, the GetHuman Team had about 27 people, including contractors that helped with programming and tech operations, and an in-house team dedicated to manually solving customer service problems for our site users. Today, GetHuman is comprised of roughly 13 people, including software development experts, writers, editors, and researchers. Here are some of our featured players.

Jeff Whelpley

Tech Guru, Head Tinkerer

While Adam and Christian stay focused on keeping up with the ever-changing landscape of customer service contact information and problems, Jeff keeps GetHuman.com running speedily and smoothly. That may sound like an easy task, but GetHuman serves over 50 million different people every year, and keeping a website running fast under that kind of load is a challenge.

Jeff is also responsible for drafting and maintaining our most complicated technical tools, such as our long-standing "Call-back service", as well as other interesting high-tech tools that we will be releasing soon that you will definitely want to check out (wink).

When he's not busy with those things, you can find Jeff at quite a few conferences, speaking about Javascript-based technology and how we apply it to our quest to help consumers with customer service problems.

Adam Goldkamp

Editor-in-chief

Adam's true role (like Christian, below) is that of Customer Service Crash Test Dummy, calling up business phone numbers with long waits on hold and complicated menus all day, every day. But he also does a bulk of the editing for all of the other content that our writing team and researchers put together. Believe it or not, all the members of our team create approximately 14,000 words of new information each day that Adam has to review.

He somehow also finds time to write articles of his own, mostly about his experiences with various companies and their customer service operations, or what happened when he called an airline's phone number that day.

In addition to leading the writing team, Adam also is in charge of all research. He decides which new companies to look into, which ones we need to research again and when, as well as what topics to cover and which ones to revisit.

Christian Allen

Customer Service Crash Test Dummy

Christian plays many roles in the halls of GetHuman Inc, but the role he puts the most time and energy into is his self-coined role of Customer Service Crash Test Dummy, a role he plays alongside Adam Goldkamp. The name of this role came from over a decade of calling customer service phone numbers, just to take notes and share them with other customers, to give them an idea of what to expect when calling.

When he's not calling up major company phone numbers, Christian is a researcher, writer, and editor. The phone menus and major problems are constantly changing, and it's "all hands on deck" for that work at GetHuman. Christian is very much part of that effort.

Lastly, Christian writes some code alongside Jeff Whelpley to keep the website up and running. His official role at GetHuman Inc is CEO, but at a company as small as GetHuman, it really means that he does a little bit of everything.

While Adam, Jeff, and Christian shoulder much of the day-to-day work, they couldn't do it without multiple teams helping them in a variety of ways. They also couldn't do it without Paul English, who founded GetHuman back in 2004, after previously calling the website the IVR Cheatsheet, but you can read about that on our GetHuman History page.

Coming soon are headshots of our writing team, editors, researchers, and software developers.
